A Mossy Close-Up

There is this patch of moss that has seemed to spread among our garden.  I didn’t realize how pretty it was, especially since it has a pretty green color to it…my favorite color.  But I also didn’t realize that it grows little white flowers, which opens in the day and closes in the evening.

Gather Ye Rosebuds…

Last week, I decided to do some photos with my white rocking chair and the bouquet I caught at my good friends wedding.  Besides, it was a beautiful spring day!

Normally, I like to not worry about setting up a picture…but the way I wanted these photos to turn out, I had to.  Not that I’m complaining, because I love how they turned out!

While I was editing, I wasn’t quite sure what to name them.  Normally, the name comes right to me.  As I studied this photo, below, what came to my mind was the poem “Gather Ye Rosebuds” by Robert Herrick.  It was Perfect!

"Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old Time is still a-flying:
And this same flower that smiles to-day
To-morrow will be dying…"
~ Robert Herrick

Look out for more photos from the Gather Ye Rosebuds Collection!

Timeless Heirloom

This past week, my dad handed me a pocket watch and said, “This was my dad’s that he used for the railroad.  Why don’t you sell it.”

As I looked at it, I knew I would never sell this special heirloom!  I fiddled with it for awhile and found that it still works!

With this in my possession now, I decided to photograph this special, Timeless Heirloom.  One thing…I have 2 photo’s that I love, and can’t make up my mind which to sell on my etsy shop.

So…I would like to leave it up to you!  Vote which one is your favorite by commenting on this blog.

Garden Fresh Strawberries

Over a week ago, we had a special Mother’s Day Brunch.  But what made it more fun was our attire!  The dress code was “come as you are”.  Yes, come in your p.j.’s, nightgown, robe, curlers,….!  It was too cute to see these ladies, that you see all dressed up in church, and here they are, as they are!

I was on the committee to plan this event, and one of my duties is to take pictures.  While I was taking pictures of our food table, I saw a bowl of strawberries!  How delicious they looked in the red bowl they were in!  When I ate them, you could tell they were not from the grocery store.  No, these were from a garden!
