Gather Ye Rosebuds…

Last week, I decided to do some photos with my white rocking chair and the bouquet I caught at my good friends wedding.  Besides, it was a beautiful spring day!

Normally, I like to not worry about setting up a picture…but the way I wanted these photos to turn out, I had to.  Not that I’m complaining, because I love how they turned out!

While I was editing, I wasn’t quite sure what to name them.  Normally, the name comes right to me.  As I studied this photo, below, what came to my mind was the poem “Gather Ye Rosebuds” by Robert Herrick.  It was Perfect!

"Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old Time is still a-flying:
And this same flower that smiles to-day
To-morrow will be dying…"
~ Robert Herrick

Old Romance

Today, I wanted to try something different while taking pictures.   I wanted to use both soft and hard lines in a photo.

My mom put together this arrangement of dried roses and flowers together years ago.  It’s a different arrangement, but one that is pleasing to the eye.

When I redecorated our home, after Christmas, I placed an old mirror we’ve had for years, on the wall, next to this arrangement.  The softness of the arrangement next to the hard lines of this elegant mirror made this picture perfect.

Walk Me Home

After an eventful Wednesday, in Salem, I decided to drive home on one of my most favorite country roads.  Spring Valley Road is such a beautiful drive!  You have a beautiful view of the countryside, old barns, an old church that is still in use, tree orchards, etc.  This is the road where I took the photo of the schoolhouse, which you can see when you enter my blog, and also in my etsy shop.

On this road, I found many a picture to take…and even more beautiful scenes that I have yet to capture.

Here is my newest addition to my etsy shop:
